Assistant Professor, Human Development Counseling

The Counseling Program at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) seeks an Assistant Professor for our CACREP accredited master’s degree starting August 16, 2026. The program has three accredited concentrations in Clinical Mental Health, Marital/Couple/Family, and School Counseling. The program emphasizes a student-centric approach that celebrates differences grounded in a relational dynamic. UIS emphasizes teaching and expects ongoing scholarly and university service activities. Teaching three courses in both the spring and fall will be expected with the possibility of summers.

This is a full-time on-campus position tenure-track academic appointment. UIS tenure-system faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the university community, with assigned professional responsibilities for teaching, scholarship, and service.
