The Valencia College School of Arts, Entertainment and Design is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and transformative leader to join us as the Dean of the School of Arts, Entertainment and Design. In this role, you will lead the academic, fiscal, and operational areas of the School within Valencia College in close partnership with the Provost and with colleagues around the College. Responsible for ensuring all facets of School plans are aligned with and fulfill the college’s strategic priorities and direction.
About Our School of Arts, Entertainment and Design
Valencia College’s dynamic School of Arts and Entertainment houses the following arts and entertainment programs that are essential to our Central Florida artistic and cultural community and workforce: Art Studio/Fine Art, Dance Performance, Digital Media Technology, Live Entertainment Design & Production, Film Production Technology, Graphic and Interactive Design, Music Performance, Musical Theatre, Audio Technology and Sound Production, Theatre/Dramatic Arts, and Architecture. Programs are taught by industry professionals and teaching artists who create the conditions for students to grow their portfolio, get hands-on training, collaborate with other creatives, and prepare for the many jobs in the arts and entertainment sector of Central Florida and beyond!
The School of Arts, Entertainment and Design is also home to a number of venues for a wide variety of college and community events. From arts performances and film screenings to a visiting lecturer series that brings some of the most innovative writers, musicians, scientists, and activists from around the globe to speak to Valencia College students. Arts venues also function as working classrooms, giving dance, music, and theater students a place to gain performance experience — and giving everyone else a great venue to watch them.

The Dean will lead a multi-campus team committed to ensuring the integrity of the academic program and processes that support the Valencia Learning Centered focus all aimed at accomplishing Valencia’s Strategic Impact Plan. We are seeking a hands-on administrator who actively engages in daily operations, providing both leadership and direct support to ensure academic and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited University with a major in Fine Arts (Arts, Dance, Music, Theatre, Graphics, Film/Music Production, or related field).
Specialized Knowledge and Experience:
- Leadership experience appropriate to a senior leadership role in higher education.
- Experience in teaching and learning, including direct experience in teaching.
- Experience working with arts organizations in the community.
- Experience with student-related issues.
- Experience in applying instructional technologies.
- Experience in financial analysis, budget development, and the design and assessment of administrative support systems.
- Experience with grants and grant management.
- Experience in analyzing, interpreting, and disseminating student engagement, academic, and outcome data.

Salary: $133,111 – $169,716 per year
