The Assistant Director of BentleyPlus plays a crucial role in supporting the BentleyPlus competency development program. This program empowers college students to enhance their skills, strengths, and competencies beyond the classroom. Working closely with the Director, the Assistant Director collaborates with faculty, staff, and external partners to create a transformative experience for Bentley students.

 

 

Essential Duties

Program Leadership:

  • Contribute to the strategic vision of BentleyPlus, ensuring alignment with the university’s mission and a strong focus on student well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Director to lead a dynamic team of advisors and student ambassadors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within BentleyPlus.

 

Student Engagement:

  • Engage directly with students to understand their unique needs, aspirations, and competency development goals.
  • Provide personalized guidance to students, assisting them in selecting relevant opportunities (workshops, leadership roles, activities) that align with their desired competencies.
  • Actively promote student participation in BentleyPlus through workshops, events, and targeted outreach.

 

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with academic departments, career services, student employment, and campus organizations to seamlessly integrate BentleyPlus into the overall student experience.
  • Support the Director in building strong partnerships within the Division of Student Affairs, ensuring BentleyPlus becomes an integral part of student employment opportunities across the division.
  • Provide robust training and foster meaningful engagement opportunities for advising partners across Bentley.

 

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Assist in developing innovative assessment tools to measure student competencies and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Analyze data alongside the Director to identify trends, areas for improvement, and success stories.
  • Utilize assessment results to enhance program offerings and drive positive student outcomes.

 

Marketing and Outreach:

  • Creatively promote BentleyPlus through various channels, including an engaging website, impactful social media presence, and captivating campus events.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to raise awareness about the program’s transformative impact.
  • Contribute to showcasing inspiring student success stories and heartfelt testimonials.

 

Student Well-being Integration:

  • Work with the Director to infuse well-being initiatives into BentleyPlus, emphasizing not only academic and professional growth but also physical, emotional, and social health.
  • Collaborate closely with counseling services, health centers, and wellness programs to holistically support students’ well-being.

 

Budget Management and Growth:

  • Assist in managing the program budget, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  • Support the Director in seeking external funding opportunities and grants to fuel BentleyPlus’s growth and innovation.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in student development, career services, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of competency-based education and experiential learning.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for empowering students and fostering their personal and professional growth.

 

Work Environment

  • Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer work
  • Ability to travel around campus for work related meetings, events and other duties
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required
