The School of Communication and Media at the University of Illinois Springfield is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor of interpersonal communication with expertise in research methods. Position begins August 16, 2026. The candidate is expected to teach three classes per semester in the School of Communication and Media, focusing on interpersonal communication, research methods, and public speaking. The candidate is also expected to maintain an active line of research. As part of their service expectations, they will serve as Director of the Fundamentals of Communication course and its instructors.
This is a full-time on-campus tenure-track academic appointment. UIS tenure-system faculty are expected to be available and engaged in the university community, with assigned professional responsibilities for teaching, scholarship, and service.
