Job Description:

- Undergraduate or Graduate class: Graduate – MS in Genetic Counseling
- Date class is scheduled to begin: 9/2/2025
- Class schedule: Asynchronous
- Duration of class: 14 weeks
- Time of class: Asynchronous
This is a three credit course which is designed to provide students with a practical awareness of ethical standards and codes of conduct in the field of genetic counseling, and will incorporate such topics as ethical decision making, informed consent, confidentiality, allocation of scarce resources, professional competence, multicultural and diversity issues, and implicit bias.
While existing content from previous iterations of the course is available, the instructor is expected to thoroughly review and update materials as needed to ensure relevance and accuracy. The course is delivered asynchronously and structured into 14 modules, with weekly assignments due throughout the semester to maintain consistent student engagement. The instructor will collaborate with program leadership to ensure that all course content aligns with program goals and meets the standards set forth by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC).
Requirements:
- Degree requirements for position: Qualified candidates will have an MS in Genetic Counseling/Medical Genetics.
- Previous teaching experience: Qualified candidates will have one year of graduate level teaching experience.
- Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- General knowledge of the University’s mission, purpose, and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
