The Associate Director is part of the Undergraduate Admission team with primary responsibility for the Middle East & Africa Regions and will articulate the benefits one would receive by attending Bentley. In this capacity, the Associate Director must have expertise regarding international admission and the ability to identify potential opportunities and challenges to advance the University. This includes identifying key relationships with schools, guidance/college counselors and prospective students. The goal is to determine time and resource allocation to promote the university, leading to improvements in all stages of the enrollment funnel. Functions include the execution of various tasks and assignments and assisting in the achievement of admission goals through the initiation and implementation of projects.
Essential Duties
- Serve as territory manager for the Middle East and Africa region. Plan and execute travel strategically in line with institutional priorities under the guidance of senior staff. Travel is expected to be up to 8 weeks throughout the academic year, with the majority of travel occurring in the fall. Small group travel with other institutions is also an option.
- Travel and market Bentley University at high schools, college fairs and other educational forums providing public presentations to individuals and groups; develop and evaluate strategy for individually assigned geographic recruitment regions.
- Present the Bentley message, including the admission process, at on-campus information sessions. Interview prospective students on and off campus; follow up with written, telephone and email contact with students, parents and counselors.
- Review admission applications, render decisions and participate in entire file review and scholarship selection processes.
- Serve as Officer-of-the-Day to assist in smooth daily office operation.
- Co-manage and supervise International Peer Advisors in various clerical and projects.
- Responsible for overseeing alumni engagement and training for international recruitment events.
- Support and help with the planning and implementation of on-campus international recruitment events.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required with at least 5 years of admission experience.
- Required expertise in reading applications from outside the United States and from the region, excellent organizational and analytical abilities, ability to multi-task, solid communication and presentation skills and computer competency.
- Preference given to those with expertise recruiting in the Middle East and Africa and foreign language capability from that region.
- Ability and sensitivity in dealing with diverse populations and ability to exhibit cultural competency.
- Willingness and ability to travel independently to the specified region.
- Ability to work independently, flexibly and collaboratively in a team setting.
- A current, valid passport as well as a valid, unrestricted United States driver’s license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley’s insurance carrier.

- Fast-paced and lively office environment with many scheduled and unscheduled demands on time, frequent interruptions from telephone calls, and staff and visitor activity.
- Consistently providing exceptional customer service with a positive and pleasant attitude is essential.
- Maintaining a high energy level is essential, as it helps you stay vibrant and effective during long hours both in the office and while traveling, ensuring your judgment, attitude, and accuracy remain top-notch.
- Day and overnight travel required during the recruitment season, often necessitating early morning or late evening travel.
- Position requires some work during evenings, weekends, or other holiday periods for recruitment travel and/or signature recruitment events on campus.
- Physical skills required include alertness in dealing with technical issues, accuracy in handling large volumes of paperwork, and maintaining focus during frequent interruptions.
- Recruiting events require lifting and carrying heavy boxes as well as standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to work remotely on a frequent basis.
