Vincennes University’s College of Social Science, Performing Arts, and Communication (SSPAC) invites applicants for an Education Coordinator position. This is a full time, 12-month professional staff position with full benefits. 

This position will work directly with students, staff, faculty, and the public, in person, by telephone, and by email.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate student teacher placements and supervisors of student teachers

 

  • Arrange field placements for all education classes

 

  • Follow strict placement protocols for partner schools

 

  • Utilize data collection tools to collect internal and external data for departmental purposes, including accreditation and assessment

 

  • Communicate effectively with external entities

 

  • Track PRAXIS test scores for licensing

 

  • Act as the teacher licensing officer for Vincennes University

 

  • Manage data for Federal and State Reports and Accreditation reports

 

  • Assist with Degree Audits

 

  • Aid in recruitment efforts of students for SSPAC majors

 

  • Manage Background Checks through Castlebranch and DCS

 

  • Take photographs and videos at Education events

 

  • Maintain Social Media presence (Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok) for Education Department

 

  • Monitor and Manage Education Department webpage

 

  • Teach education courses as adjunct faculty if needed

 

  • Assist with various program related meetings

 

  • Meet with prospective students/families; facilitate group visits, and attend PreVU

 

  • Edit and update program handbooks

 

  • Organize and maintain department Google resources

 

  • Represent SSPAC at recruitment/career fairs and state required meetings

 

  • Occasional evening hours will be required

 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Required and Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field

 

  • Computer application skills in the use of personal computers are required and should include a working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, data entry and retrieval, database management through Google Suite and Microsoft Office

 

  • Must possess superior oral, written, and organization skills.

 

  • Must be able to work on their own initiative and with limited supervision.

 

  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.

 

  • Must be able to use good judgment.

 

  • Must be dependable, flexible, cooperative, team-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities in a confidential manner. It is important that a professional appearance and positive attitude be displayed at all times, and confidentiality with the various aspects of the office is adhered to.

 

  • Must be punctual and timely in all duties.

 

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
